Kori Jean Olsen Officially Joins the Ranks at CMA as an Official Member

On a trip to Nashville earlier this month, rising country recording artist and vocal powerhouse, Kori Jean Olsen, visited the CMA office where she signed on as an official CMA member, which is quite a progressive step for the budding star.

“I’m so excited to be a member of this organization,” said Kori Jean. “CMA embodies everything that I love about country music and I’m so honored to have the opportunity to contribute to their amazing legacy.”

Kori Jean is keeping plenty busy these days with other endeavors as well, most notably, the recording of her upcoming album. During the same excursion to Music City, Kori Jean began working in the studio, laying down tracks for her, as of yet, untitled CD that will be released later this year. She is also gearing up for the release of her single just in time for Country Radio Seminar in March.

It is no surprise that in the process of working on her album, Kori Jean impressed industry vets that lent a hand in the studio. Master session guitarist, Brent Mason, who has worked with Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, George Strait, Rascal Flatts, Dolly Parton, Tim McGraw and Vince Gill, offered his picking skills to the pint-sized singer. Obviously he’s no stranger to big-time talent and he knows a star when he sees one. “As a studio musician, I go into a session not knowing what I’m going to hear,” said Mason, “so when Kori Jean hit the first few notes of the first song, I knew she had something special! Her stellar voice drew the attention of all the musicians.”
Kori Jean began her journey as a singer at the age of 9 when she started taking vocal lessons and playing piano in her hometown of Provo, Utah. Her commanding voice and nuanced vocal styling clearly comes through when you hear her music. Citing influences like Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride and Sugarland, this spunky songstress manages to capture a message of loyalty and love with passion and intensity.

As a CMA member, Kori Jean is now joining thousands of others working toward spreading the influence of country music worldwide. “Since its inception in 1958, the Country Music Association started as, and continues to be, a membership organization dedicated to promoting and furthering the reach of country music.” The organization boasts more than 6,000 members involved in the industry in over 40 countries around the world. And while “being a CMA member does have many benefits, the greatest benefit of all is helping country music grow” into a globally-appreciated genre.
